End suction

This is a layout in which the liquid enters the pump along the shaft axis through the end connection and leaves through the discharge connection upwards. This is the most widespread arrangement of a single-stage centrifugal pump — simple, compact and convenient in the piping.

The standard fixes the connection dimensions and the characteristics, therefore pumps from different manufacturers within the same size are interchangeable. In practice this means that if a pump fails, an available equivalent can be fitted without reworking the foundation and the pipeline.

This is the possibility of removing the motor together with the bracket, the shaft and the impeller without disconnecting the pump casing from the pipeline. Servicing the seal and the bearings then takes considerably less time, and the piping remains untouched.

For low-viscosity liquids without a significant content of abrasive: water, condensate, brines, cleaning solutions, technical liquids, and in the appropriate design — food products and chemical media. The materials of the wetted section and the type of seal are selected for the specific product.
