Which tasks in production does robotisation cover?
Most often these are palletising and depalletising, placing products into cases, high-speed pick-and-place, movement between line sections and the servicing of packaging machines. The robot takes over monotonous and physically demanding operations where a stable rate is important.
When does automation pay for itself?
The calculation is made individually: current manual labour costs, losses from rejects and downtime, and the cost of equipment and integration are all taken into account. We prepare an estimate at the stage of the technical proposal, so that the decision is taken on the basis of figures and not of feelings.
Is it possible to automate part of a line rather than the whole production?
Yes, and this is the most common scenario. The most problematic section is automated — usually the end of the line or the packaging — while the rest is left as it is. The system is designed in such a way that it can be expanded in subsequent stages.
How is a robotic cell integrated with existing equipment?
Through the line control system: the signals from adjacent machines, the conveyor speeds and the emergency circuits are all coordinated. We survey the existing controllers and exchange protocols, after which we determine the scope of the integration work.
Who trains the personnel to work with such systems?
Training of operators and mechanics is carried out during commissioning on the equipment itself: operation in the normal mode, changeover to another format, actions in the event of a breakdown and basic diagnostics. After that, Steiner service support applies.
