ProMinent gamma solenoid-driven metering pump

The ProMinent solenoid-driven metering pump of the gamma series is a diaphragm pump with a solenoid drive for metering liquid chemicals at low flow rates. The group includes three models: gamma/X, gamma/XL and gamma/XL Hygienic. Flow rate: from 1 ml/h to 80 l/h; back pressure: 25 to 2 bar.

Why does the ProMinent solenoid-driven metering pump show almost no wear?

The solenoid switches on and off and moves the shaft forwards and backwards. The shaft transmits the stroke to the diaphragm. This is the only moving part of the drive: there are no lubricated bearings or shafts.

The drive is regulated, so the pump meters continuously even very small volumes — from approximately 1 ml/h for gamma/X. The general operating principle of ProMinent metering pumps is described on the ProMinent brand page.

The model is selected at the intersection of two values: the required flow rate in l/h and the back pressure in bar. The higher the back pressure, the lower the available flow rate.

What distinguishes gamma/X, gamma/XL and gamma/XL Hygienic?

gamma/X and gamma/XL have integrated pressure measurement and display. This simplifies commissioning and process monitoring.
gamma/XL extends the flow rate to 80 l/h and can be connected to networks.
gamma/XL Hygienic is designed for food additives. Wetted surfaces are electropolished to Ra ≤ 0.8 µm. The design has no dead spaces or gaps; CIP cleaning up to +130 °C.

The gamma/XL Hygienic has a wetted section made of 1.4435 steel, a PTFE diaphragm and EPDM or FKM seals. Connection: clamp to DIN 11864. The materials comply with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 and FDA requirements.

Where is the ProMinent solenoid-driven metering pump used?

When is another ProMinent group needed?

If the flow rate exceeds 80 l/h, use ProMinent motor-driven metering pumps. For ATEX hazardous areas, the EXTRONIC solenoid-driven pump from the group of process diaphragm pumps.
