The REDA vacuum deaerator with aroma recovery removes oxygen from juices, nectars and natural extracts. Aromatic fractions that leave together with the gases are condensed and returned to the product.
Steiner Ukraine is the REDA distributor in Ukraine. The common principles of REDA equipment, including UHT configurations and separator design, are described on the page REDA.
Why deaerate juices?
Oxygen causes product oxidation. It changes the colour and reduces the nutritional value of the juice.
The deaerator works under vacuum and removes oxygen before further processing.
How does the deaerator with aroma recovery work?
Under vacuum, dissolved gases leave the product together with part of the aromatic substances. A special condenser captures the aromatic fractions and returns them to the product.
A vacuum pump removes non-condensable gases, including oxygen.
Why are aromas lost during vacuum processing?
Juice aroma compounds are volatile. Under vacuum, they evaporate together with dissolved gases.
Without a condenser, the product would lose part of its aroma together with oxygen. That is why, for juices and nectars, deaeration is combined with the return of aromatic fractions.

What does the deaerator with aroma recovery give juice producers?
- Aromas are not lost.
- The product does not oxidise.
- The colour and nutritional value of the juice are preserved.
Before deaeration, juice is clarified on RE-V/EO separators. After it, the juice is sterilised on the UHT plant and stored in an aseptic tank.
For milk and cream, REDA offers a separate Airless milk deaerator, which also works as a deodoriser.
