OMAC is an Italian manufacturer of positive displacement lobe pumps made of AISI 316 stainless steel and special alloys. Production is located in the province of Reggio Emilia. OMAC is part of the CSF Inox group. Steiner Ukraine is the official OMAC distributor in Ukraine: it selects, supplies and services lobe pumps.

How does an OMAC lobe pump work?
Two rotors rotate in opposite directions without touching. Motion between the drive and driven shafts is transmitted by a pair of high-precision timing gears.
Since the rotors do not make contact, no metal particles enter the product. The product is subjected to less shear, and the pump is also suitable for abrasive liquids.
The design is modular: rotors, seals and options are replaced when operating conditions change. A wide choice of seals and gaskets allows materials to be matched to a specific product.
How to choose a lobe pump series?
- general pumping duties, special versions, back pressure up to 20 bar: Series B;
- 3A certification required: Series BA-BB;
- compact unit without external rotating shafts for lighter duties: Series BE;
- stainless steel gearbox and hygienic EHEDG version: Series BF-F;
- highest hygienic requirements, quick seal maintenance or an ATEX zone: Series C.
How lobe pumps handle viscous and sensitive products is explained in the article “Rotary lobe pumps: gentle and efficient liquid transfer”.
OMAC materials and quality control
- shafts: AISI 316L or Duplex stainless steel;
- rotors: AISI 316L or CY5SnBiM anti-friction alloy;
- casing: AISI 316L, investment cast;
- special alloys for aggressive media: Hastelloy, titanium, Monel;
- every pump undergoes a final water test; a test report is issued on request;
- raw material certificates and material traceability in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.
The OMAC quality management system was certified to ISO 9001 in 2005. The manufacturer received its first 3A certificate in 1995 for Series B.
Selection and service from Steiner Ukraine
To select an OMAC lobe pump, we clarify:
- the product, its viscosity and temperature;
- the size and fragility of solids that must be preserved;
- flow rate and pressure at the duty point;
- hygienic requirements: 3A, EHEDG, CIP cleaning and SIP sterilisation;
- the installation area and explosion protection requirements.
Based on this data, we determine the series, size, rotors and seals. This is followed by supply, service and spare parts. Steiner Ukraine has been operating in the industrial equipment market since 2006.
