Masdaf - Self-priming pumps (UKMS Series)
The Masdaf UKMS sewage pump is a self-priming pump for untreated sewage containing solids. It handles particles up to 76 mm in size. Operating range: flow rate 50–730 m³/h, head 4–40 m, speed 750–2,900 rpm, liquid temperature 0–60 °C. 2″–10″ flanges at the inlet and outlet.
How does the self-priming mechanism work in the UKMS?
The pump is installed above the liquid level and fills itself automatically — there is no need to prime the suction line. The pump removes air from the line automatically on start-up, after which it enters normal operation.
The suction valve is built-in and does not require separate installation in the pipework. It can be cleaned or replaced without interfering with the suction line — this is crucial for drains containing large solids, as the valve is the first component to become blocked.

MiniUKM — a compact solution for small-scale drainage tasks. The UKMS is in a different league: it has a flow rate sixteen times greater, can handle large debris, and offers the option of a diesel drive for sites without electricity.

Diesel or electric drive
The manufacturer offers the range in two drive variants. The electric version is the standard solution for sites with a reliable power supply. The diesel version is required where there is no electricity or where the pump needs to operate during a power cut: emergency drainage, temporary sites and construction sites.

A sewage pump is selected based on the size of solid particles: if anything larger than 76 mm is present in the effluent, a different solution is required, and no operating point can compensate for this. Next come flow rate and head, followed by the installation height above the liquid level, and only then the drive type. We calculate the operating conditions and ensure service and spare parts.
