The Masdaf MiniUKM self-priming pump is a compact centrifugal pump designed for surface water and drainage water. It primes the suction line automatically, without the need for external priming. Operating range: flow rate 5–45 m³/h, head 10–40 m, speed 3,000–3,600 rpm, fluid temperature 0–60 °C. DN 50 flanges at the inlet and outlet.
What are the benefits of self-priming?
A standard centrifugal pump must be filled with liquid before start-up, and the suction line must be kept full — otherwise the pump will ‘cavitate’. A self-priming pump removes air from the line by itself and reaches operating conditions without any external intervention.
In the MiniUKM, this is achieved by the design of the impeller, and the suction valve is built-in and does not require separate installation. In practical terms, this means that no non-return valve is required in the system — one less component and one fewer potential cause of failure.
The pump is installed above the liquid level, so there is no need to submerge it in the sump or to drain the sump for maintenance.
Technical specifications of the Masdaf MiniUKM
To be confirmed upon request: maximum geometric suction head for a specific size, shaft and flow path materials, seal type, and seawater-compatible design.
Design features
- compact design
- a specially designed impeller that provides self-priming capability
- Easy assembly and disassembly — access to the flow path without removing the pump from the line
- built-in suction valve, which does not require separate installation
Where is the Masdaf MiniUKM pump used?
- pumping of domestic and industrial drainage fluids
- all types of drainage and discharge processes
The manufacturer classifies the series under two sectors: industrial technology and maritime affairs.
Certification
The range is CE-certified. The manufacturer publishes an operating and maintenance manual for the MiniUKM; copies of the documents are available on request.
Selection and service from Steiner Ukraine
A self-priming pump is selected based on the suction head: it is this, rather than the flow rate, that most often acts as the limiting factor. Next comes the temperature of the liquid, as the margin to cavitation decreases with increasing temperature, and only then the operating point and materials suitable for the medium. For seawater, the specifications are agreed separately. We calculate the operating conditions and ensure service and spare parts. Steiner Ukraine has been operating in the industrial equipment market since 2006.
