The Masdaf PS/PSH wastewater pump is a vertical semi-submersible pump with a long shaft. The hydraulic section is submerged in the liquid, whilst the electric motor is positioned above the sump and does not come into contact with the liquid. The series is designed for wastewater containing solids and sludge: flow rate 4.5–25 m³/h, head 4–19 m.
What are the benefits of a long-shaft design?
The motor is positioned above the liquid level and is connected to the pump via a special coupling. This eliminates the need for a sealed motor compartment and simplifies maintenance: the motor and coupling are accessible without having to drain the sump.
The suction valve and impeller are located at the bottom, directly in the liquid, and are protected by a filter which prevents large solid particles from entering the hydraulic system.
The design is modular; the manufacturer states that it is maintenance-free, and the bearing assembly is designed specifically for operation in contaminated environments.
Technical specifications of the Masdaf PS/PSH
To be confirmed upon request: the operating pressure of the casing, the impeller diameter for a specific operating point, the shaft length to suit the pit depth, and the materials of construction.
Certification
The range is CE-certified. The manufacturer also states that it complies with TSE Class 3 for centrifugal pumps. Copies of the documents are available on request.
Where it is used
According to the manufacturer’s list:
- Wastewater pumping in residential and commercial buildings
- drainage and waste water from industrial plants, in particular viscous liquids containing solid particles
- sewerage networks and treatment works
Selection and service from Steiner Ukraine
A semi-submersible pump is selected based on the pump pit: its depth determines the shaft length, whilst the liquid level determines the installation point of the base plate. Next come the flow rate, head, nature of the contamination and temperature. We calculate the operating point, select the model and ensure service and spare parts. Steiner Ukraine has been operating in the industrial equipment market since 2006.
