Masdaf - Drainage pumps (MDP)

Request a quote

The Masdaf MDP vertical borehole pump is a column-type pump with a long shaft, designed for sumps and boreholes. The manufacturer classifies it as a column-type borehole pump. Operating range: flow rate 10–210 m³/h, head 4–65 m, speed 1,500–3,000 rpm, fluid temperature 0–90 °C.

How does MDP differ from PS/PSH?

Both series are vertical pumps with long shafts, but they are designed for different applications.

Parameter MDP PS/PSH
Capacity 10–210 m³/h 4.5–25 m³/h
Pressure 4–65 m 4–19 m
Revolutions 1,500–3,000 rpm 1,500 rpm
Pressure flange DN 32 – DN 100 DN 50
Fluid temperature 0–90 °C 0–60 °C

MDP offers an order of magnitude greater flow rate, three times the head and operation at temperatures up to 90 °C. PS/PSH handles small volumes at a single fixed speed. If the sump is small and the fluid is cold, there’s no point in paying extra for an MDP; if you need a head of more than 19 m or hot fluid, there’s only one option.

Design features

Securing the housing and the bearing ensures that the column, the suction cover and the bearing assembly remain parallel — the service life of the long shaft depends on this.

The impeller is balanced to ISO G 6.3. The design of the impeller and the spiral casing is intended to allow solid particles to pass through unimpeded.

Roller bearings are fitted in the pump inlet area to accommodate radial loads. A mechanical seal isolates the bearing assembly and the shaft surface from the fluid being pumped.

Where is the Masdaf MDP pump used?

According to the manufacturer’s list:

  • the pumping of clean water, waste water, oil and emulsified liquids at industrial plants
  • pumping of liquids containing sludge, fibres and solid particles

In other words, the range is not limited to wastewater: oil and emulsions handled by the same pump constitute a separate scenario that should be taken into account when selecting materials.

Certification

The range is CE-certified. The manufacturer provides an operation and maintenance manual; copies of the documents are available on request.

Selection and service from Steiner Ukraine

A borehole pump is selected based on two factors simultaneously: the operating point and the speed. A range of 1,500–3,000 rpm means that the same flow rate can be achieved in different ways, and the choice affects both the head and wear when working with abrasive materials. Next come the depth of the well, which determines the length of the suction pipe, the composition of the liquid and its temperature. We calculate the operating conditions and ensure service and spare parts. Steiner Ukraine has been operating in the industrial equipment market since 2006.
