REDA – ESL milk pasteuriser

Request a quote

The REDA ESL pasteuriser produces milk with extended shelf life. It destroys pathogenic bacteria and reduces enzymatic activity while preserving the freshness, taste and nutritional value of milk.

Steiner Ukraine is the REDA distributor in Ukraine. The common principles of REDA equipment, including UHT configurations and separator design, are described on the page REDA.

How does the ESL pasteuriser work?

The technology combines two stages. The first is ultra-pasteurisation of milk at +125…135 °C. The second is mechanical bacteria removal in a bactofuge at 60 °C.

Together they act on heat-resistant aerobic spores. More about bactofugation on the page of the RE-B separators.

Which operations does the REDA ESL pasteuriser combine?

  • Clarification.
  • Bactofugation.
  • Cream separation.
  • Automatic in-line standardisation.
  • Deaeration.
  • Homogenisation.

REDA ESL pasteuriser: technical specifications

Parameter Value
Ultra-pasteurisation temperature +125…135 °C
Bactofugation at 60 °C
Management PLC
Recording pasteurisation and product outlet temperature, diverter valve operation
Option Airless deaerator

How does ESL milk differ from pasteurised and UHT milk?

Product Treatment Cold chain
Fresh pasteurised milk HTST pasteurisation required
ESL milk ultra-pasteurisation +125…135 °C and bactofugation required
UHT milk sterilisation and aseptic filling not required

What is needed to produce ESL milk?

Ultra-pasteurised milk is filled under high hygiene conditions. It is stored and distributed with the cold chain maintained.

The ESL platform is controlled by a PLC. Pasteurisation and product outlet temperatures, as well as diverter valve operation, are continuously recorded in the control panel.

The optional Airless deaerator removes excess air and oxygen and eliminates off-odours. For sterilised milk without a cold chain, UHT plants are used.
