HAUS – DDE decanters for wastewater sludge dewatering

The HAUS DDE sludge dewatering decanter is a two-phase decanter centrifuge for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants and water treatment plants. The decanter continuously separates suspended solids from liquid, thickens and dewaters sludge. How does a decanter work?

The product enters the conveyor feed chamber through the feed pipe and, under centrifugal force, passes into the bowl, where it stratifies by density. Solids settle on the bowl wall, and the scroll conveyor transports them to the discharge in the conical section. Clarified liquid leaves over height-adjustable plates at the end of the cylindrical section. The solids conveying rate is determined by the speed difference between bowl and scroll.

What are the features of the DDE series?

The main motor drives the bowl, the secondary motor drives the scroll. Both motors are controlled by frequency converters and connected by a high-torque gearbox without a friction clutch. The differential speed is adjusted automatically to the amount of solids. On the touch panel with PLC, automatic modes are selected, sludge dryness is set and alarms are monitored.

The pond depth is adjustable for positive, neutral or negative operation. Materials, wear protection, motor power and gearbox torque are selected for the task.

How to select a sludge dewatering decanter?

Selection requires the sludge flow rate, solids concentration, particle characteristics, required sludge dryness and clarified liquid requirements, as well as operating conditions. The polymer demand is determined by laboratory tests on the specific sludge.

Installed drive power is from 9.7 to 197 kW depending on the model.
