What is a magnetic drive sealless pump?
In a magnetically driven pump, rotation from the motor is transmitted to the impeller via two sets of magnets. The driving magnet is connected to the motor shaft, while the driven magnet is housed inside the impeller assembly.
A solid partition stands between them. There is no mechanical connection between the motor and the wheel, and therefore there is no shaft running through the housing to the outside.
The direct consequence: the pump has no mechanical seal, and therefore there is neither leakage nor emissions through the seal. For aggressive and volatile media, this eliminates the most frequent cause of failure and the most common source of leakage.
FTI applies this principle in plastic pumps, ANSI-dimensioned pumps, self-priming, vertical and drum pump designs.

The manufacturer positions vertical pumps for areas with limited space: they occupy a smaller footprint than horizontal ones and can operate submerged in liquid.
Magnetic plastic pumps: DB, SP, MSDB, KC series
DB Series — basic range of sealless magnetic drive centrifugal pumps. Polypropylene or PVDF casing. Frame sizes from DB3 to DB22. A version with an IEC motor is available for vertical mounting.
SP Series — self-priming execution: SP10, SP11, SP15, SP22. The manufacturer specifies a suction lift of up to 25 feet (7.6 m) and priming of 18 feet (5.5 m) in 90 seconds.
MSDB Series — multistage operation: MSDB 2 and MSDB 3. Used when a higher head is required for the same flow rate.
KC / MSKC Series — a separate product line, in particular in a multistage design.
ANSI-compliant pumps – the UCR, UCP and UltraChem UC series – feature ETFE linings. ANSI dimensions allow an existing pump to be replaced without modifying the foundations and pipework.

FTI Air is a line of air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps launched in 2015. These pumps are powered by compressed air without an electric drive, are self-priming and can run dry.
