The company was founded in 1965. In the early 1960s, Sidel invented plastic bottles (PVC, high-density polyethylene) and developed its own equipment. In the 1980s, the consumption of PET bottles increased significantly, making the company popular. Over the years, Sidel acquired several other companies, such as Cermex and Gebo. Today, the Sidel Group is a multinational company covering the entire beverage packaging production process. Tetra Laval acquired the company in 2003, and now Sidel is one of the 3 industrial divisions of the Tetra Laval Group, along with Tetra Pak and DeLaval.
Sidel співпрацює з міжнародними компаніями виробниками продуктів харчування та вже встановила понад 30 000 машин в 190 країнах на всіх континентах. Також Sidel має власне виробництво у 12 країнах, а центри продажу та технічного сервісу розміщені у 28 країнах.
