Why it is important to use original components in heat exchange equipment

You wouldn't put the cheapest oil in a new engine, would you? It's the same story with heat exchangers. This is a critical component that operates under extreme pressure and temperature. When it's time to replace gaskets or plates, it's tempting to save money by buying ‘equivalents’. Stop! This is not saving money, but a direct path to problems. The original is engineered for precision; every millimetre of material is calculated for a specific system. Non-original parts create a risk that affects efficiency.

Technical perfection: Efficiency and resourcefulness

Only original spare parts guarantee that the heat exchanger will operate at its specified efficiency. ‘Copies’ often have minimal tolerance deviations, which cause uneven flow, reduced heat exchange and increased energy consumption. This results in direct losses.

That is why, from a technical point of view, the original is the only sensible choice:

When accuracy declines, productivity declines as well. This inevitably leads us to the more expensive part of the issue: the economics of downtime.

Economy and safety: Preventing costly downtime

The main myth: ‘Originals are expensive.’ What is really expensive is the downtime of your production. When the entire line stops because of a gasket, the price of this saving increases thousands of times. Original components are an investment in reliability and continuity. Plus, you retain the manufacturer's warranty.

Why the risk of using non-original spare parts is economically unjustified:

  • Preservation of warranty: Installation of non-original parts will void the warranty on the main unit.
  • Minimising accidents: A high-quality component has a predictable service life, preventing sudden failures and major accidents.
  • Reduction in maintenance costs: Originals last longer, require less frequent replacement, reducing repair costs.

As we can see, saving money today translates into huge losses tomorrow.

There is no room for compromise here. You can take risks at your own peril. Or you can simply equip your equipment with parts that are designed specifically for it and are guaranteed to last for the specified period. Reliability cannot be cheap, because it is priceless in manufacturing.
