What is an INOXMIM FL-ENM pump?<\/h2>\n

FL-ENM is a series of positive displacement external gear pumps with a monoblock design. The motor and pump unit form a single assembly. Optionally, the casing can be fitted with a heating chamber.<\/p>\n

The pump delivery rate is linearly proportional to the rotational speed. The volume displaced per revolution is constant. Therefore, when paired with a frequency inverter, the FL-ENM works as a dosing device rather than just a transfer pump.<\/p>\n

Reversible pump. The reverse enables product to be returned from the pipeline to the vessel at the end of a batch.<\/p>\n

Ra < 0.8 \u00b5m refers to the surface roughness. A value below 0.8 \u00b5m is a typical requirement for food-contact surfaces: product does not cling to such a surface, and it can be washed down without disassembly.<\/p>\n

Why is the maximum pressure limited to 2 bar?<\/h2>\n

The limit is set by the manufacturer intentionally. The driven gear is made of engineering polymer. 2 bar is the limit beyond which the polymer wheel loses its integrity.<\/p>\n

From this, a practical rule of operation follows. A centrifugal pump reduces its delivery when backpressure increases. A positive displacement pump does not do this: it continues to deliver the same volume, and the pressure rises until the pipeline or motor fails.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the manufacturer integrates a pressure switch. It cuts off the power supply at peak pressure and acts as a mechanical safety device. You must not close the discharge valve while the pump is running.<\/p>\n

Up to the 2 bar limit, the FL-ENM delivery remains practically constant regardless of the back pressure. This is the reason why the series is chosen for dosing.<\/p>\n

Why is the guide wheel made of Teflon?<\/h2>\n

The drive gear is made of AISI 316 and is mounted directly onto the motor shaft. The driven gear is made of high-density Teflon. The manufacturer calls this material pair a deliberate engineering decision and cites four consequences.<\/p>\n
